Team of Parent Child and Directress
“focus on the child's needs within the context of family by recognising and responding to the unique influence that a family has in a child’s life; by working in partnership with families in meeting the child’s individual needs;" - Maria Montessori
We acknowledge the uniqueness of each child by encouraging reciprocal feedback between families and the school; providing formal and informal observations of children; referring families to appropriate agencies as required; and keeping current and accurate records of all children in our care as required.
A positive learning experience requires that the parents and the school share a common view on the purpose of education. This common view creates the supportive triangle when parents, directress and child are all working together for the benefit of the child.
Your involvement in the school sends an important message to your children that you value and care about their school. We encourage you to be part of our school environment in the following ways:
- Attend parent information events which play an important role in educating parents about the philosophy and practice of Montessori and other areas of interest
- Come into our classrooms to share any relevant experience like a particular profession or culture
- Help us to make materials with other interested parents
- Organise class parent social events
- Work in our gardens
- Encourage your child to collect items of interest from your home or travels which they might like to share
To the whole Bond St team, a huge thank you for everything you have done for our children over the past years. I have always felt confident that at Bond St they were receiving the best of care in a nurturing environment which is designed to ensure that they can grow and reach their potential. I have been particularly impressed by the child focused approach of the Montessori method. My children have never said they don’t want to go to kindy as there is always something that will engage them. They have made good friends, become literate, numerate, developed a curiosity for their world and learned so much more along the way. They are now more than equipped socially, emotionally and academically, and brimming with confidence, to move on to big school. At the end of an association spanning 7 years I can see the centre has gone from strength to strength and should be justifiably proud of its achievements with the centre and our children. We all wish you the very best for the future and will miss you.
As a parent I am so grateful for the fabulous Montessori experience and for the knowledgeable team that Headland provides for Jemima - I believe it is definitely the very best in terms of education that any parent could hope for, and I am so lucky to have such a great Centre close-by, setting the foundation for my daughter's future.
The whole team at Montessori who are so dedicated to enriching and developing our children through close adherence to the Montessori approach to education and child development.
